AACWP : My Favorite Vendor

A couple weeks ago I had the absolute privilege of attending the American Association of Certified Wedding Planner's annual My Favorite Vendor dinner and award ceremony. AACWP is a professional organization for trained or certified wedding planners that provides support, certification and continuing education to event planners throughout the United States. To become a member of AACWP, individuals attend a four day training course where they are taught the ins and out of the event planning business (sign up and I will teach you all you need to know about paper goods and etiquette!).

Each year, AACWP members vote on their favorite vendors and then host a dinner to award and recognize the various businesses nominated. I was both floored and honored when I found out Chips and Salsa had been nominated for best invitation company - and was even more astonished when my little, home-run business took home the 2013 award. I can only attribute my success over this last year and a half to the amazing people I have met in this industry and especially the event planners who took a chance on a young entrepreneur with big dreams.

In the craziness of trying to remember who all to thank when I was on a stage, my nerves clearly took over as I forgot to mention my biggest and most important cheerleader - my handsome husband (gasp!). While I am sure he doesn't read this blog, C&S would still be only a idea if he hadn't pushed and encouraged me to do what I love. He has been there the share the stress, the long hours, the tears and now the sweet success. I cannot thank him enough for loving me wholeheartedly and for making me better each day.

Cheers to 2013 and find the video of the evening below!

Ruffled Feature : A Winter Wedding

Dallas is chock-full of talented wedding vendors and I thankfully get the pleasure of working with some of the best! Elizabeth, After Yes wedding planner extraordinaire, coordinated a very special, winter wedding styled shoot for Ruffled during the holidays.

With a focus on bright colors of pink, teal and a lot of glitter, this inspirational shoot varied from the traditional dark and woodsy holiday style but still feels warm and inviting. I think my favorite elements include the stunning gold linen from La Tavola, the creatively placed pine cones in the bouquet by Bows and Arrows and the gorgeous images by the gifted Perez Photography.

Be sure to check out the entire Ruffled post here and a huge thank you to all who contributed to such a fun shoot!

Save the Date : A Texasota Wedding

Katherine, a Dallasite through and through, and Justin, a born and bred Minnesotan, are tying the knot next month. When Katherine and I first met, she knew she wanted to incorporate their home states in a fun manner for their save the dates - here they are! Double sided printing and digital address printing on the envelopes made for a cohesive look and a wedding guests are sure to want to attend.

Baby A's Fire Truck Birth Announcement

I can't think of a better way to celebrate "Baby A's" 10 month birthday than highlighting his super sweet birth announcement on today's post. Those lips!

Stephanie, Andrew's mom and my dear friend, and I just enjoyed lunch as we planned out his birthday party invites for his first birthday. I have so loved seeing this little guy grow over the past 10 months and cannot wait to see how much he changes in the next year.

The fire truck was a sweet nod to Andrew's grandfather who passed shortly before he was born which also coordinated with the toy fire truck guests were asked to sign at Stephanie's baby showers. Each announcement had a mini photo of the newest member of the Langford family - and you can't forget big brother Lane, their first born, four legged son.

Mmm Good : Rehearsal Dinner Invites

I had the absolute pleasure and joy to work with my sister on her wedding!
The rehearsal dinner invitations were inspired by our grandmother who will always say "mmm good" when she takes a bite of something she likes.
